We are looking for people interested in serving on the Board of Trustees of the Boulder City Library. The Boulder City Library Board of Trustees is a five member board, appointed by the Clark County Commissioners.
To be eligible to be a Trustee of the Boulder City Library, you must be a current resident in Boulder City. The Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of every month. Most meetings are relatively short.
The Board is responsible for approving expenses and setting policy for the Library. For more information about the position, please refer to the Nevada State Library Trustee Handbook at:
The laws regarding the governance of the Boulder City Library District are set forth in the Nevada Revised Statutes, Chapter 379: Public Libraries and NRS Chapter 239: Public Records. Board of Trustee Meetings fall under the State of Nevada Open Meetings Laws (NRS, Chap. 241).
The Library Board also seeks to adhere to the spirit of policies and statements set forth by the Nevada State Library, the Nevada Library Association and the American Library Association.
The Board is currently involved in revising and updating our Personnel Policy Handbook since we recently revised our Policy Manual.
The mission of the Boulder City Library District is, “The Boulder City Library strives to strengthen our community through access to information, entertainment and ideas, with a special mission to inspire a love of reading and learning.”

Don’t forget, the Boulder City Library will be closed November 12th in observance of Veterans Day and November 22nd for Thanksgiving. We will also be closed December 24th and 25th for Christmas.
