Southwest Diner
"Homemade Is Our Specialty"

By Sara Ford

Specializing in old fashioned home cooking, just like grandma used to make, Southwest Diner has been serving Boulder City for over two decades. Our menu includes homemade meatloaf and pot roast dinners with all the fixin’s. Breakfast is served fresh off the griddle with huge three egg omelets, good ol' bacon and eggs and the famous "those potatoes" are a must have! Unforgettable lunchtime favorites include "The California," a grilled turkey sandwich on sourdough, or "The Avocado BLT" with a side of the best homemade cucumber salad you will ever taste.

Owner Cindy Ford’s Grandma Citrowski  put all of her love and care into cooking and raising nine children on the family farm in Minnesota. Now her legendary original recipes live on at Southwest Diner through Cindy and her great-grandson, Jake Ford.

Cindy started her first restaurant at the age of twenty-one in Southern California. The busy city lifestyle of California, and the start of her family, led Cindy and her husband Carl Ford to move to quaint Boulder City twenty-three years ago. She couldn't wait to get another restaurant started and immediately opened Southwest Frosty Freeze. Cindy felt limited by the walk-up counter and drive-thru, so she expanded operations to a full restaurant. Eventually, she relocated to a larger facility under the name of Southwest Diner.

With the new space, Cindy was able to bring on her nineteen-year-old son, Jake, who bakes some of the best homemade pies and desserts you will ever taste. He has expanded on some of the legendary baking recipes that Grandma Citrowski created years ago and put a new mouth-watering twist on them.
