|These accomplishments included presentations to Garrett Middle School history classes, the American Public Works Association 2009 Conference, Boulder City Friends of the Arts, Sunrise and Boulder City Rotary Clubs, Boulder City Hospital Foundation event, Martha P. King 4th grade classes, Mitchell Elementary School 2nd grade classes, Grace Christian Academy classes, and home school students.
These presentations varied with the needs for each organization. The 31’ers Educational Outreach Team offers presentations on two levels. The first is a general presentation on what the 31’ers Educational Outreach Team offers, accomplishments and the direction the Team is going. The second level is based on Hoover Dam and Boulder City history and can be customized to your organizational needs. The second level includes monologues, readings from construction workers’ journals, presentations with props and/or a general informational presentation with questions and answers.
This year’s Damboree Celebration has asked the original 31’ers families and the 31’ers Team to be the Grand Marshal for the parade. The theme for this year’s Damboree Celebration is “A Blast From The Past”, honoring the people who built Hoover Dam and Boulder City and which will include the City’s 50th Anniversary of incorporation. For a parade application, visit bcnv.org at the resource tab.
