I am always on the lookout for a good travel deal. There was only one cruise I passed on because I did not have the time to go. It was a 180 day world cruise for $17,000. But if you gain half a pound a day on a cruise, I would have gained 90 pounds on that cruise.
Here is a link to start with. Smartcruiser.com is a website that has cruise travel deals with savings for military, union, AARP, civil and seniors. It is free to join and you can view the many available cruises. We have had good luck finding trips through them and they have good last-minute cruises also. Smartcruiser.com will work with you on your current cruise to help you get a better price. You can call them and talk to a real person, which is nice when you are trying to get rooms for your friends on the same cruise, or other special favors.
Another helpful website is groupon.com. Just click on “Getaways” for some interesting travel deals. On the right-hand side of the main web page you will see a “Find Deals In” drop-down menu, where you can pick destinations by area. The main Getaways page will show a detailed list of current offers all over the world. Here are some examples of some of the current offers (as of September 10):
9-Day Guided Tour to Cairo Egypt with Airfare - Nile Cruise, Accommodations, Some Meals, and Transport - $2,699;
10-Day China City Tour with Airfare Beijing and Shanghai - $1,678;
9-Day Tour of Russia with Airfare - Moscow and St. Petersburg - $1,879;
and 8-Day Tour of Switzerland with Airfare and Car Rental - $1,599.
These are just a few of the great deals the website lists. On most of the trips that are offered you can make small changes without any problems. Just act quickly when you see a trip you are interested in because most of these trips are offered for only 4 to 9 days, and they have limited quantities available.
