Boulder City Horsemen's Association
The Boulder City Horsemen’s Association (BCHA) was established as an association of persons dedicated primarily to the promotion and encouragement of interest in horses, their proper care and welfare, and equine activities of an athletic, social, educational and recreational nature.

Founded early in the history of Boulder City, the BCHA has existed on its current site since 1961. The organization, with the continued approval and support of Boulder City, allows the city to maintain the proud tradition of a local rodeo and equine facility for locals and visitors alike.

The BCHA is financed and operated by its over 225 members, and provides a home for over 400 horses and other animals. Members of the BCHA participate in equine sports ranging from roping and barrel racing to dressage and cross country jumping. Some simply enjoy the company of their horses, and ride on a strictly recreational basis.

The BCHA sponsors multiple events each year which are approved by the membership. Some of these are monthly barrel races, Western Junior Rodeo Association, and the corrals are usually a scheduled location for the High School Rodeo within the State of Nevada, which is part of the National High School Rodeo Association. Also, the BCHA sponsors local events such as Play Day for children and adults to practice and compete, Team Penning on Saturday evening (best burgers in Boulder City!), and Team Roping twice weekly.

For those who just enjoy riding, the BCHA offers three arenas and multiple trails leading to the desert. Boulder City sponsors riding lessons for children or adults. Also, the BCHA sponsors the Jennifer Wilson Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to a high school senior who wishes to pursue equine science or equine care or training through college.

Through the years, the corrals have offered a safe environment for horses and a wholesome environment for BCHA members and their families. In some cases, the third generation of members is now introducing their own children to the joys and mysteries of horses.

The founders of the BCHA were far sighted horsemen and horsewomen who understood how important horses are to people, and to the great traditions of the American West. Boulder City and the BCHA are still committed to those same traditions after almost 50 years. Our horses make us happy, and remind us of humility: our children make us proud and keep us looking to the future.
