Boulder City History and Art Foundations

Great things are coming in the art and history world! The former BC Friends of the Arts has folded into the BC Historical Preservation Foundation to create a new history and arts group: BC History and Art Foundation. With the partnering of the two groups, our wonderful past events will be taking on a new and fresh face!

The reputation of the “old” BC Friends of the Arts was built on its free outdoor events at the library. Their most popular event has been BC’s Got Talent. With this new partnership, it is great to learn this event will continue, in an even bigger and better way! This year’s BC’s Got Talent will be held at Bicentennial Park on May 21st, at 7pm, a wonderful, outdoor setting, and a great way to enjoy the spring weather!

If you, or anyone you know, has an interesting talent (juggling? magician?) auditions will be held at the Smith Building (located at Wyoming and Utah Streets) on Saturday, April 16th, 9am until 2pm. Talent by all ages are welcome, but in particular, the event is seeking adult talent for this year’s event. Visit bcsgottalent.com for an application form, or call 702-501-9219. BC’s Got Talent is made possible in part due to the Boulder Dam Credit Union and Copper Mountain Solar’s support.

And thanks to the new BC History and Art Foundation, the City’s annual Restoration Workshop will be returning! Sponsored by the City of BC’s Historic Preservation Committee, this partnership will enable the return of the free Restoration Workshop, to be held on Saturday, May 14th, at the Smith Building from 9am to 3pm. More information on this important event will be available at 702-501-9219.

BC History and Art Foundation has been busy at work supporting the community in its arts and history. A recent historic plaque was awarded for the saving from demolition of the Browder Building. The Foundation also recently held a clean-up day in Reflections Park. Welcome BC History and Art Foundation! We look forward to your ongoing contributions to the community.
