The Boulder City Library means many different things to different people. It could be the place you go to get your best sellers, the place your homeowner’s association meets, or the place you go to enjoy an interactive story time with your little one. Or maybe it’s a combination of all three! But have you thought about the Library as a place to meet like-minded people who have a goal of helping to increase positive and intellectual programs at the Library? And have fun while doing it? If I have peaked your curiosity, please read on.
The Boulder City Friends of the Library is a group determined to help increase the visibility of and programs at the Library. But they need your help. They have recently finished writing their bylaws and are in the process of securing non-profit status. They are a small group of citizens who want to invest in the Library to give essential support for Library services and programs. To do that. they need you to become a member for a nominal fee and donate some time as a volunteer at some of the special events.
One of the upcoming special events will be a Book Sale to raise funds for the Friends Group. Scheduled in the Community Room for Thursday, November 2nd through Monday, November 6th with all the specific details regarding the times of the sale to come soon. Volunteers will be needed at the sale to help with setup, cashier duties, tidying up during the sale, and cleaning up the meeting room. One of the perks of membership is getting to shop the book sale BEFORE it opens to the public! To contact the Friends Group now, email at

As always, the Library offers many fun programs for all ages. There will be a family movie in the amphitheater on October 20th at 6:30pm. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic under the stars while enjoying the movie. Check out BCLibrary.org.
