BCPD’s Outstanding Staff

Throughout the last 19 years I have had the privilege of working with some outstanding police officers, today is no different. We have officers that love traffic enforcement, (you know who they are).

We have officers that love working in various functions inside the police department, detectives and administrative positions. We have officers that enjoy patrolling the neighborhoods and responding to calls. Additionally, we have a dedicated group of dispatchers, records clerks and an administrative assistant that work tirelessly on a host of crucial administrative tasks. Together, it is my opinion, that we have an awesome team, each member dedicated to your safety and the well-being of Boulder City. They truly are committed to making Boulder City the safest place to live, work and visit.

We have numerous employees that have earned their associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees and even a few that have earned their master’s degree. Coupled with their commitment, we have a police department that is educated and committed to doing a job that admittedly, is quite difficult. Think for a moment, have you ever called the police department? What was going on that led to that telephone call? I can say that I have never been dispatched to a home because things were going so good that you felt the need to share the moment with an officer. Chances are something very wrong occurred, which is what we deal with every day. Not that I am complaining – you see, I (we) voluntarily applied to be a member of your police department – to serve and protect is what we wanted to do.

We respond to all types of calls. Although some are mundane, each is important to the person who called and as such, we attempt to handle them to their satisfaction. If you find yourself wondering what it is like to be a police officer in Boulder City or question our approach or intent, I strongly encourage you to participate in a ride along – getting to know your officers and the difficult task they are challenged with every day. I feel confident that not only will you leave that experience impressed, but enlightened and with a higher sense of pride to live in Boulder City.
