New Magazine
We have rearranged our magazines at the Library. We subscribe to over 200 magazines and newspapers for the public to use. Previously the magazines were arranged in a strict alphabetical order, by title. |

However, we noticed that several magazines were not being used, even though similar magazines on the same subject were being used a lot. Now we are trying a subject arrangement, and then arranging the magazines by title within those subjects. We hope that by putting magazines with similar subjects next to each other, our readers will find more that they can enjoy.
Our new Subject Headings for magazines include: Air & Space, Animal Care & Pets, Art, Business & Finance, Cooking, Crafts & Hobbies, Electronics & Music, Fashion, Health & Fitness, Home & Garden, News & Politics, Parenting, Popular Culture, Reading & Writing, Science & History, Sports, Travel, and Vehicles. The magazines are still in the same area, just a little rearranged. If you need help finding a favorite title, please feel free to ask for help at the Reference Desk or at the Circulation Desk.
We have moved our Young Adult magazines next to the rest of the magazines. We also have a few magazines for younger readers in the Youth Department, back by the Youth Reference Desk.
The newest issue of a magazine is available only for use in the Library. Past issues may be checked-out for up to one week at a time. Patrons may check out up to seven magazines during a week. Due to limited storage space, we keep back-issues of magazines for only two years.
Sometimes publishers discontinue magazines. If we have identified magazines that are not being used by the public, those titles are targeted to be discontinued. We try to replace the discontinued titles with magazines that may be more popular. The collection is always changing.
The library is located at 701 Adams Boulevard.
Hours of operation are:
Monday - Thursday 9 am - 8:30 pm
Friday 9 am - 5 pm
Saturday 11 am - 4 pm
Sunday 1 pm - 4 pm (closed during the summer)
