Aren’t coffee table books lovely? They are full of big, beautiful illustrations as well as lots of great information. And they are printed on all sorts of subjects! If you enjoy flipping through these wonderful books but don’t like the price tag at the book store, or you have trouble finding a shelf big enough to hold them at home, consider checking out our collection at the library.
Boulder City Magazine®
|At the library we don’t call them “coffee table” books, but instead refer to them as “Oversized” books. That really just means they are too big to fit on a standard shelf.
To give you an idea of what types of books we have in our Oversized collection, I thought I would list a few titles to tempt you:
What Bird Is That? by Neville Cayley: Oversize 598.2994 CAY
Eureka! An Illustrated History of Inventions from the Wheel to the Computer by Edward DeBono: Oversize 609 DEB
Harley-Davidson: Myth & Mystique by Randy Leffingwell: Oversize 629.227 LEF
Apollo: An Eyewitness Account by Alan Bean: Oversize 629.454 BEA
Southwest Indian Painting by Clara Lee Turner: Oversize 709.701 TUR
Arizona Landmarks by James Cook: Oversize 917.910022 COO
Ghosttowns, Gamblers and Gold by Chuck Lawliss: Oversize 978.02 LAW
Hillerman Country by Tony Hillerman: Oversize 979 HIL
At the Boulder City Library, our Oversized books are found on the far North wall, just past the Fiction collection. To find any of these books, just stop by the Reference Desk and ask the Librarian to show you where to find these big, beautiful books. If none of the titles on my list caught your attention, I bet you can still find something of interest in the collection. We have Oversized books about movies, gardening, cooking, history, travel, hobbies and much, much more.
