These services are not intended to replace medical care, but are intended to ease the difficulty of those experiencing cancer. All programs are free of charge, as The Caring Place exists on the passion and generosity of community members. The Caring Place is located at 4425 S. Jones in Las Vegas. It is an oasis away from medical facilities, where participants can rest, repair, and re-align.
We are developing satellite services in Boulder City to assist those who have difficulty getting to Las Vegas. If you are a licensed massage therapist or complementary care practitioner, or know of one who would like to donate a service monthly for a member of our Boulder City community who is touched by cancer, please contact me. If you have been touched by cancer or know someone who has been and would benefit from some TLC, please contact me. So far, I have one practitioner who is kindly donating a facial once a month, and another who is donating a massage. This is a great way for our community to offer compassion and time to someone who is faced with the cancer journey.
Volunteering your time on a regular basis is a wonderful way to help. It may be an hour out of your day, but it can literally change someone’s life by restoring hope and letting someone know that they are valued. I once read “In 100 years from now, it won’t matter how much money was in my bank account, what kind of house I lived in, or what kind of car I drove. But it will have mattered that I was a volunteer.” Please help me with this by rallying support that we can extend directly to members of our Boulder City community.
