What's New
A new approach to Yoga with Boulder City Parks and Recreation’s Yoga teacher Lynn Petronsky, who teaches the “Viniyoga of Yoga”. According to Lynn, Viniyoga is not a style of Yoga, but rather an approach utilizing the proper application of the tools of Yoga.

If you haven’t started your Yoga practice because you don’t know where to start or are afraid the class may be too much for you, you need not worry. Lynn’s wellness program offers a variety of classes, all of which are ideal for anyone, regardless of health, fitness and flexibility levels. Yoga class with Lynn starts at the level you need. Yoga provides something for everyone and what each receives from it is different. Lynn says, quite simply, that everyone can do Yoga, and that Yoga is not at all about pretzel-like postures. This traditional Yoga primarily uses postures and breathing exercises based on the students’ abilities and needs. The tools of chanting, mantra and meditation are only used when they interest the student. A Viniyoga teacher fully considers the needs and abilities of an individual and decides on the right Yoga practice.

Yoga 4 You classes are open to all levels including beginners, on: Tuesdays at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 3 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7 p.m., Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays at 12 p.m.

Beginners Yoga Workshop is offered Saturdays at 10 a.m. You will learn posture alignment and function, linking breath with movement, and use of the breath to stabilize and mobilize the spine.
Yoga 4 Back Pain is offered Tuesdays at 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. This program is a specifically designed Yoga sequence that has been proven to give significant relief to people suffering chronic back pain.

Private Yoga and Thai Yoga sessions are also available. Thai Yoga is a traditional flow of gentle stretching movements, energy line and pressure point work, that produces a uniquely relaxing, energizing and effective session.

Yoga, in general, builds strength, flexibility and endurance, and promotes stress and muscle tension reduction. These classes start in September, so don’t hesitate to start your Yoga practice today.
