His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s message is one of developing compassion, knowledge, peace, and wisdom. He explains that our basic nature is happy, that there is a sense of joy and calmness in our natural state. He mentions that affection and warm-heartedness are basic human qualities. The Dalai Lama teaches that it is crucial to develop self discipline to have a contented life, and that the way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop positive emotions, which are stronger and more powerful than negative emotions. The Dalai Lama teaches that all good religions carry a message of love and compassion and that if we can recognize this, we can respect and develop closeness with other traditions.
We are so fortunate to have opportunities to learn from some of the world’s great masters. These essential teachings help us to develop individually and help us to build stronger and more harmonious relationships within our families, communities, and the world.
Please join us in welcoming Lama Tenzin, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s emissary of peace.
