Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 21! The “Shakespeare @ Play” players will be at the Boulder City Library Amphitheater performing a survey of Shakespearian comedy with pieces from “12th Night,” “Comedy of Errors,” and “Much Ado About Nothing.”
Boulder City Magazine®
|The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last about an hour, followed by a showing of the Trevor Nunn production of “12th Night” (with Helena Bonham Carter, Nigel Hawthorne, Imogen Stubbs and Sydney Livingstone) in the Library’s large meeting room. Bring your blankets and a picnic supper and enjoy!
The “Shakespeare @ Play” players will be in Boulder City to promote this fall’s Shakespeare in the Park events with “Comedy of Errors” to be performed at the Lake Las Vegas outdoor theater on September 28 and at Wild Horse Golf Course on September 29 and 30. “Hamlet” will be performed at the Clark County Government Center on October 6-8, for those who need serious drama. The “Shakespeare @ Play” players will conduct workshops for the students at Garrett Middle School and Boulder City High School earlier in the day, then move to our amphitheater for the evening activities.
For more information about Shakespeare in the Park events, please call Pamela Poster, program coordinator at the Henderson Arts Council, at 221-7431 or visit their website at www.artscouncilhenderson.org.
There have been a number of really nice concerts in the amphitheater over the past year or so. I’ll be really interested in seeing how well the amphitheater works out for dramatic presentations. I think the acoustics are excellent and the players will be very pleased. I also hope that this program can provide a lead-in for future dramatic opportunities in the amphitheater.
See you at the Library on September 21st!
