Where Community Begins
With October upon us and cooler weather on the horizon, I’m sure I’m not the only one who looks forward to that little burst of energy that seems to come with the onset of fall. It’s time to get outdoors and enjoy some of Boulder City’s most spectacular weather. Some great outdoor Special Interest classes include horseback riding and trail rides, tennis and junior golf lessons.

Football season kicks off with the flag football passing league clinics for grades 3 – 6 taking place October 9 – 12 at 7 p.m. on Pratte Soccer Fields at Veterans’ Memorial Park. Pre-registration is required at the Recreation Department Office at 900 Arizona Street.

One very enjoyable Art Center activity takes place at Art In The Park on Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. under the gazebo. Children’s art activities will be offered at $5 each and pottery wheel throwing demonstrations by Boulder Cit Art Center Instructors will take place at various times. Being outside doing an art project amongst all the fabulous artists is very inspiring. Watch out, the tile painting activity can be addicting; you may end up wanting to create a custom project for your home or garden. To take full advantage of the Boulder City Art Center, you have to see it to believe it. Call Art Center Coordinator Robin Kariam at 293-1612 for more information.

Plus, you won’t want to miss the annual Halloween Carnival run by the Boulder City Henderson Swim team. At this event, you’ll enjoy a host of carnival games that bring you tricks and treats. Fun games, contests and prizes get you ready for the haunt of your life. Admission is free and game tickets are $.75.
