Print and Save - Anchorage - Part 2
Last month, general advice about Anchorage; this month, some details. Due to space limitation, it represents but a tiny portion of what I would like to convey, and is a bit terse. Please visit my website, www.driftersister.com, for the unabridged version.

TIPS:
- The grid: 4th & 5th Avenues, between B and G Streets
- Travel in groups at night if possible; be mindful of panhandlers
- Bus rides cost $1.25; seniors (60+) ride for 25¢; driver doesn’t always tell you; just flash driver’s license
- Avoid Alaska Experience Theater (6th <G&H>) – Cheap little thrill ride not worth the cost. Do visit their 1964 Good Friday Earthquake museum (FREE), and nice little gift shop; just don’t pay to go into the ‘ride.’
IF YOU NEED:
- Post Office: 5th St. Mall, 3rd floor
- 1 Hour Photo: Kits Camera, 5th St. Mall, 2nd floor
- ATM : 5th St. Mall entrance (5th&D)
- Catholic Church: Holy Family Cathedral, (5th&H)

BEST RESTAURANTS: (pricey, but good quality)
- Glacier Brewhouse (5th <H&I>)
- Orso’s (5th <H&I>)
- Simon & Seaforts (4th&L)
- Snow Goose (3rd <F&G >) – from patio, best view of sunset and Elmendorf AFB & Merrill Field activity
LIGHT EATING:
- Reindeer sausage hot dog – Best stand: M&A’s, near steps to Public Lands Bldg. (4th&F)
- Sweet Basil Cafe, E St. <3rd&4th> (breakfast/lunch only)
- 5th St. Mall Food Court, 4th floor (Arby’s, Quiznos, and more)

Catch the wind…
Taste the rain…
And touch all of your tomorrows.
