Electronic ID Verification System Makes Its Debut
The debut of the Rotary Club of Boulder City's Best Dam Barbecue also introduced new technology to those wanting to enjoy alcoholic beverages at special events in Boulder City. Event coordinators wanted to ensure they did everything possible to keep alcohol out of the hands of those under the age of 21.

With this in mind, a partnership was formed with Stand Tall Don't Fall, who had recently procured two Electronic Age/ID Verification Systems. These freestanding units made by Precision Dynamics Corporation are designed to electronically verify the name and age of an individual as being someone 21 years of age or older. Once verified, which takes only seconds, a wristband is printed and subsequently placed on the wrist of the person presenting the identification. They are then free to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Comments on the machine were plentiful while virtually no complaints were voiced to the officers working the ID booths. For anyone interested in obtaining the Electronic Age/ID Verification Systems you can formally request them through the police department by calling me direct at (702) 293-9348. Requests have already been made for the use of the machines at the 4th of July Damboree Celebration and Boulder City Sunrise Rotary's Wurstfest. It seems as though this piece of information technology is here to stay - much to the benefit of Boulder City. Until next month, stay safe.
