Detective Jerry Stone Changes Badges
Detective Jerry Stone was first hired as a Reserve Officer with the Boulder City Police Department and later hired as a fulltime police officer in March 1992. Detective Stone has worked a number of different assignments ranging from Reserve Coordinator, Academy Commander and more recently as Boulder City’s own CSI guy. Many of you will remember Jerry, as he was the officer shot in the line of duty several years back. Refusing to give up, Jerry soon after returned to duty. Some others will remember Detective Stone for the commitment, compassion, and dedication he demonstrated each and every day he reported for duty regardless of who he was dealing with. A significant number of law enforcement careers have been touched by Jerry as he taught classes at the Police Academy, trained officers in the Field Training Program, or simply served as a mentor.

Detective Stone unfortunately, has decided to leave the Boulder City Police Department to work more closely to his family in Reno. For those of us at the Police Department, we will miss him greatly. Most of all, we will miss a friend who always had a “service above self” attitude, a dry sense of humor, and his meticulous review of reports and crime scenes. From all of us at the Police Department, City of Boulder City and all of our residents, we wish you the best, Jerry. Thank you for all that you have done for Boulder City.
